Aurus Jewellery is a Chilean company with a long history in the sale and resale of jewellery and precious metals such as gold and silver. They are located nationwide with more than 75 branches.
One of its main services for which many customers prefer Aurus Jewellery is the purchase and sale of jewellery with a “repurchase” contract, where the customer can sell a piece, and it is held for 90 days in a safe location, guaranteeing the customer that they will be able to make a repurchase of the item within the time established in the contract.
Other of the main services that the company has is the sale of jewellery and precious metal products with the option to pay in up to 8 instalments or separate from them with the payment of an initial advance.
As a UX Designer and User researcher, my priority was to understand the business and the way in which customers accessed the company's services.
At the same time, he had to know the types of customers and what their goals and motivations were in the ecommerce platform at that time.
As a UI designer, I had to analyze and understand the brand image with which they have positioned themselves in the market for so long, maintaining the characteristic look and feel and translating it into a UI with a modern and friendly touch.
Aurus Jewelry needed to create a platform that would allow its clients to consult the status of their contracts, verify effective dates and specific details of these, easily access the geographical location of the branches and their hours, see their reservation plans and even access the company's catalog of offers.
Due to the global health situation caused by SARS Cov-19, many companies were forced to create digital channels or improve existing ones in order to boost their sales and attract customers.
This is why Aurus Jewellery decided to evaluate its available sales channels and create a modern and easy-to-use product that would allow its customers to access the information on their contracts and the catalogue of updated products and offers.
Part of these objectives were covered by the ecommerce website that they have available to their clients, however they found that this platform was a bit limiting for some users and that it lacked important functions such as real-time notification of contract expirations.
For this reason, it was necessary to create an application that would allow users to be notified of the status of their contracts and the specific details of them.
In order to achieve a friendly interface that complied with the "Aurus" style, it was necessary to study the brand image manual and extract the essence of the visual components in order to implement a simile in the application.
But before this, it was necessary to create a logical content structure, the information architecture, that would divide the app into the necessary sections so that the user could navigate smoothly and intuitively.
After defining how the site would be structured, it was necessary to establish an intuitive navigation pattern. For this reason, a bottom navigation bar was implemented, with a title bar that allowed the user to move freely through the application with a fairly standard design pattern.
